Globe valves (spherical valves, stop valves) inherently have a large pressure loss due to their structure, and it is unavoidable that the valves themselves are large and heavy. Flowtech's ball valves, the "BKH series" and "MKHP series," have no pressure loss because they are full bore (with some reduced bore options). Additionally, due to the simple structure characteristic of ball valves, they are smaller in size compared to globe valves (spherical valves, stop valves) of the same diameter. As the size of the valve decreases, it is possible to reduce the weight of the valve body. By making the valve smaller and lighter, the equipment that incorporates the valve can also be miniaturized and lightened. This directly affects transportation costs when exporting equipment overseas, so there are benefits to switching from globe valves to ball valves. If you are using globe valves for ON-OFF applications, why not consider switching to ball valves?
